Everyone has different interpretations of humour – it’s therefore best to gauge and respect each person’s opinions especially if you learn you’ve gone too far.  That said, do they see each other as friends or still as associates or coworkers? And if so, who does and who doesn’t? 🤔

Darrell beams at his new donut.
Darrell: Ah it's fine, Ash! It's quiet, there's free food, banter- yeah it's all good!
Ash scowls as he grabs some full rubbish bags.
Ash: LETS JUST TAKE OUT THE BINS ALREADY.

Ash's expression is of concern which Darrell takes notice of. The night is dark with the cool blues and green sweeping over everything as the back light from the open exit door beams light from behind them as they move to the bins outside.
Ash: You know you two - it ain't banter it not everyone is laughing...

Ash thinks to himself as he chucks his bin bag into the large waste container. Darrell took heed of Ash's words and has a moment of realisation that Ash does not have the same idea of humour as he does. CJ however closes the lid to her bin, muttering "gimme a break"

Darrell approaches Ash with a sincere expression of apology whilst CJ and another person continues to sort out their rubbish.
Darrell: No no - that's true. Sorry mate. We good?
Ash: Oh yeah, no worries!

Darrell approaches CJ with the same invitation.
Darrell: No hard feelings?
CJ: I'll get you back don't worry.
Darrell: Oh.... kay?

Ash parting thoughts are: I know I'm over-reacting but I can't help but feel that... maybe we're getting a little too distracted at work...
