Damian stands frozen in nervious embarrasment. "It's things like, I Boiled an egg dry and burned the pan as a result. Something So simple anyone can cook and I just... Failed at the bare minimum, so i knew to just stay away from then on."
Darrell conjures up a memory of himself cooking with a younger brother, a black man with longer afro hair to his side buzzed and controlled haircut. "Oh that's an Easy fix. any consolation, my brother's done the same too. i took on most of the cooking when our parents had to work late, Because, well, i was willing to keep at it! Anything Was better than Ready meals!"
Darrell continues, around a daydream of cooking eggs.
"but my brother, He did get there in the end. he can look after himself now, So i don't Think anyone's particularly Hopeless. Well, not entirely hopeless anyway. He is a twat sometimes, but- Even i still burn A pan or two sometimes. you just
need to put in enough water, keep an Eye on the pans, and eventually you don't burn things as much."
Damian shrugs, nervously scratching his nose again. "I never got that far... It's best To leave it, to be honest. Mum Knows what she's doing. Leave me alone and I don't trust myself to not Break something Important!"
Darrell freezes in concern. "Like, the eggs, or.." whilst CJ looks on with even more concern from the other counter. "Do we seriously have to watch you around the mincer and slicer as well..?"
