Cj stands back up and looks directly to Darrell "Indulge me, darrell. How long have you and damian been working here?"
Darrell recalls a memory of meeting Damian. "I started at the start of the year as i was at school, whereas i know you and Ash finished your exams before joining instead. Damian was here before me. I'm pretty sure i asked him if he was doing his exams too, but he'd actually left a few years earlier. Can't recall if he said when he started working here, only that he started straight after school too."
Cj shows genuine surprise. "you did exams AND worked? and you're doing it again? That's crazy!"
Darrell winks. "yeah! i work best when i am being kept busy! Still, Once i'm back at uni in the new year, i'm not sure if I will able to keep up with my hours here. Either way, damian has been here the longest out of any school leavers group to date."
Cj smiles in thought. "I Didn't realise he'd been here for years! maybe Ash isn't the grumpy old git of the group..."
Darrell bemused grin drops. "that's rather uncalled for."
CJ leans in with a smile. "OK, SO! when ash was last in..."
Time passes as she explains the conversation from earlier in the chapter.
"And that's why i call him a GRUMPY OLD GIT!"
Darrell is laughing "only you'd make that sound endearing!"
And yes, Damian walks in exactly when she says grumpy old git.
